Macca's, the mechanical left
A mechanical left in Pasongan Bay, North Pagai. Macaronis is the Mentawai wave people call perfect, a wall that does the same thing again and again. Boats and a resort share a small anchorage. The reef is the whole reason the boats are there.
When.
April to October
Indian Ocean swell in the dry season. It works on a wide range of size.
Worth knowing.
- 1. This is a boat or resort wave. There is no walk-up from a public road.
- 2. The anchorage is limited. That is why it feels busy even in the middle of nowhere.
- 3. Dry season is the window. A small day is still a fun left over coral.
- 4. Watch a set from the boat. You will see which section is actually linking.
