The slab, Prevelly
The slab next to Margaret River Main Break. The Box is a different wave for a different surfer. Same granite headland, same cold water, a takeoff that throws on the reef. The Rip Curl Pro is next door. This peak is not the contest heat.
When.
April to September
Southwest swell in winter. It has to be a real pulse. A small day is just the reef next to Main Break.
Worth knowing.
- 1. Do not mix this up with Main Break. That is the other page, the other takeoff.
- 2. Prevelly is the car park. Watch a set from the lookout before you commit.
- 3. Sharks are a real part of this coast. That is the water, not a movie.
- 4. Winter is the window. Summer is smaller, still a look at Main Break, not why this peak has a name.
